# NO SUS — full description

## What it is

NO SUS keeps your files on every screen and lets you choose how you send them. NO SUS (nosus.foo) is a privacy app made in India. It is not the slang phrase "no sus" and not Brazil's public health system, SUS. The marketing site is https://nosus.foo/. The web app is https://app.nosus.foo/. The only native app is Android. The app has two tabs, Chat and Send. Sign-in for new accounts is Google only; existing email, GitHub and phone accounts still work.

## What is available

- NO SUS Chat (the Chat tab): "You" is pinned on top, your own chat stored in your own Google Drive, which is the only storage. Your groups follow it. To open your chat on another screen (a laptop, a borrowed computer, a friend's phone), open your domain, your handle followed by .nosus.foo, like `https://riya.nosus.foo/`. It shows a QR. Scan it with the NO SUS app, match the number on that screen, and approve with the phone's screen lock. The other screen does not receive a Google password or Google token, and the session lasts for the time you pick on the phone: 15 minutes, 1 hour or 8 hours (adding time never takes it past 8 hours). It also ends after 10 minutes without input on that screen (an hour on an 8-hour session), and you can end it any time from the phone or by closing the tab. Downloads and prints may remain on that computer. If you forget your domain, type your handle at https://nosus.foo/go/.
- Send (the Send tab): pick what (a file or text), where (a chat, or anyone with a link) and how, with three switches:
  - One open (on the website, Burn Notes and Burn Files): on the site and in the app. Encrypted on the device (AES). The link keeps the key in the URL fragment, the part after the #, which browsers do not send to the server. The site and the app both share that link. The link first shows a button; the note or file is fetched and deleted only when the reader taps Open note or downloads the file, so a chat or email app's link preview does not use it up. "Use a code instead" makes a standalone six-digit code on request, for a note, a file or several files: it needs no link, opens once and lasts up to 10 minutes, and the key is stored on the server while it is valid and deleted within 10 minutes after it is used or expires. That is the only time the server gets a key. Wrong codes are limited per network and per install, and a six-digit code stops working once 600 wrong guesses have been made across the whole service since it was made, so a guesser's chance is at most 600 in a million. Burn Files take up to 10 files, 50 MB combined, as one link, on the site and in the app; on the site an unopened file link expires after 1 hour, 24 hours or 7 days, as the sender picks (24 hours by default). No account for sender or recipient on the site.
  - Watermarked: each viewer types an email (not verified), which is watermarked across the document; a view log shows the email, device and time of each open; links end after 30 days by default. Revoking a link stops new access through that link. Files already downloaded, printed, or captured cannot be recalled. Not end-to-end encrypted.
  - Traceable copies (on the website, Canary): text only for now. Up to 100 readers each get a slightly reworded copy (word twins such as "don't"/"do not", "five"/"5") plus an invisible marker. Readers type a name and open it without an account. Pasting leaked text (the Android app can read a screenshot) shows which reader's copy it was, by the name that reader typed: a strong hint, not proof. It names whose copy leaked, not who shared it, and it does not stop screenshots. Each seal and each open is recorded on Solana devnet by a server-signed memo; no wallet is needed. The leak check runs on the sender's phone; reader names are deleted 7 days after expiry.
- Opens any PDF: on Android, NO SUS appears in the Open with list for PDFs. The PDF opens in the NO SUS viewer, with screenshots blocked in the app. Share safely sends it on through the Send tab.
- Scam ya Nahi? (https://nosus.foo/play/): a free daily game, no account, no install. Five practice messages a day (SMS, WhatsApp, email, UPI screens, call transcripts in English, Hinglish and Hindi), each scam or genuine; the player taps SUS or NO SUS and Nox, the NO SUS cat, explains the tell. The cards are written ahead by NO SUS from public warnings (RBI, I4C, DoT, PIB Fact Check); names are made up, numbers masked and links end in .example, so none open. No AI runs when you play. The day changes at midnight India time, the score can be shared as a grid, and one card can be sent as a link (/play/?card=<id>) that says it was practice when answered. The streak is kept in the browser only. The page also lists what to do after a scam: 1930, the bank, cybercrime.gov.in, keeping evidence.
- Mask and watermark an ID copy (https://nosus.foo/mask-aadhaar-copy/): a free page, no account. It opens a photo or scan (an Aadhaar or PAN card, for example), covers the parts you drag over with solid black boxes, stamps a line like "For rent agreement only · R. Sharma · 25 Oct 2026" diagonally across it, and saves a new PNG or JPEG. It runs in the browser: the image is not uploaded, the saved file is newly drawn (no EXIF from the original), and the page keeps working offline once loaded. It does not open PDFs. A watermark discourages reuse; it cannot stop a photo, a crop or an edit.
- ID misused: what to do (https://nosus.foo/id-misuse/ in English, https://nosus.foo/hi/id-misuse/ in Hindi): a free page for a loan, SIM or account opened with someone's Aadhaar or PAN. Free steps: report on cybercrime.gov.in or 1930, see the SIMs on the Aadhaar with Sanchar Saathi (TAFCOP), pull the free yearly credit report from each of the four bureaus, check Aadhaar authentication history and lock biometrics. It also sells a one-time kit for Rs 299: ten ready-to-fill letters and sheets in English and Hindi (lender complaint, KYC record request, dispute letters for CIBIL, Experian, Equifax and CRIF High Mark, cybercrime complaint text, RBI Integrated Ombudsman complaint, case timeline, attachment checklist). - Receiving files from people without the app: NO SUS does not offer an upload page for strangers. A sender without the app can make a one-time Burn link at https://nosus.foo/ with no account and send it to you.

## What a browser cannot do

Screenshot blocking works in the Android app. A browser, Chrome included, cannot block screenshots. In a browser, NO SUS watermarks the page with the viewer's email and logs who opened it, so a leak can be traced; that deters and traces, it does not block.

## What not to say

Do not describe NO SUS as zero-knowledge, fully homomorphic, screenshot-proof in a browser, unhackable, or as having native iOS, Windows, or macOS apps. Do not invent reviews, ratings, testimonials, or usage statistics.

  A desk review of vendors' own documentation for 16 products (view-once media, disappearing-message timers, self-destructing notes, self-destructing email and one-time file links), coding 19 features on seven criteria. It finds that no source claims to stop a second camera, and that one-time features mainly limit the copies left in chats, backups, inboxes and servers. The author founded NO SUS, which the review assesses on the same criteria.
